Creating a complex 3D form using repetitive structures, with a minimum of 25 objects. I chose disposable rubber gloves, that could be re purposed or altered. But while trying to make a structure, we ( my partner Mathew) ran into problems. We couldn’t give it that stability, so we tried out several combination and came up with this. We inserted plastic coated wiring to give the shape and blew them up. We joined the fingers identically, and wound it on a copper wire.It looks better if its hung, than coiled. gives it much more volume.

My Escher meets Om clone. Escher is someone I would like to get into more and maybe do something with motion maybe ? I’m not sure how that would be, but definitely the idea of creating illusions with spaces, spirals, mirror images, inversion, polyhedrons, relativities, conflict flat spatials…would create cool motion graphics !!

By using line, as the principal visual element. Also by using a variety of media and mark making tools to express emotions and their opposite. By doing this, exploring how to express these complex content, but also how the forms can include a more comprehensive visual language by utilizing the various principles of design- unity/ variety, emphasis/ hierarchy, rhythm/ repetition, scale/ proportion, direction/ motion, weight/ balance and space…

By observing and drawing portraits of one another. This is my first portrait ever ! The lucky guy is Dylan, on top.
The process involved, me drawing him, and him drawing me, below.

After, that we started modifying our own portraits which were drawn by others, by tracing over vellum… Dylan saw himself as a king thru my portrait of him…

…and I modified Dylan’s portrait of me, to tone it down a bit…!!
Isabel drew a wonderful life like detailed portrait of me…
